RER LONDON’S joint venture into the Richmond residential property market

Property development company RER London in a joint venture with UK & European Investments Limited have purchased the former Richmond Royal Hospital located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, South West London.

The central Grade II Listed building, originally built as a private residence in 1882 before being converted into the Richmond Royal hospital in the Twentieth Century, will be fully refurbished and converted and the South and North wings will be redeveloped.

Converted Private residential homes will be complemented by new build homes with a proportion of Affordable Housing. A new fit for purpose health facility for the South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust will also be built.

Tim Farrow, Founding Partner of RER London comments: “The location of the site and the quality of the existing building provides tremendous scope for a development of high quality which is ideally situated in Richmond.”

Matthew Neal, Director of the Estate Modernisation Programme for the NHS Trust states: “Through the completion of this sale, the Trust will raise significant funds for our Estate Modernisation Programme which will ensure we can self fund two state-of-the-art hospitals, deliver refurbished facilities at our Richmond Royal site and expand community care across all the boroughs we serve. This is yet another milestone for a project that will help us to continue to deliver first class mental healthcare across South West London in the best setting for our patients.”
